Torsten and Monty headed to the vet today and didn't get good news. They went back to VCA, but did not see Dr. Gabby nor Dr. Valverde. I can't remember the name of the vet they did see, but his opinion was that Monty has a bulging disc in the area right in front of her tail. He based his opinion on her pain and her lack of movement. He said that to be absolutely sure he would have to do an MRI and then if that was what it was, she would need another surgery. Needless to say, we are very bummed.
Right now, we are not sure what we are going to do. Monty is in a lot of pain and we hate to see her like this. For the moment, we have decided to postpone her chemotherapy (which we were going to start on Tuesday) and see if we can make any progress on her back. I have left a couple of messages with animal chiropractors/accupuncturist and hope to get her seen ASAP. I've had great luck with this type of treatment with the horses, so I'm thinking we should try some alternative therapy first. We'll keep things updated, but there probably won't be anything new to report over the weekend. We'll just try to keep her as comfortable as possible and do what we can for her.
